RENTAL
Cars, including four-wheel drive, are available for
rental to take you almost anywhere on the island.A
valid driver's license and a Dominican Driver's Permit,
which costs about US$ 12, are required.A Dominican
Driver's Permit can be obtained through rental agencies
and police stations. Remember to drive on the left-hand
side of the road. See "Automobile Rentals"
in the Dominica Yellow Pages for rental agencies on
the island.

BUSES
For anyone on a budget, the bus system is
excellent and provides access to pretty much
anywhere in Dominica although connections
to another bus may be required.
Buses run regularly Monday - Friday 6 am to
6 pm Saturday 6 am to 2 pm
FERRY
SERVICE
L'Express Des lies is a high-speed cata service
operating between the islands o-* Guadeloupe
(Pointe-a-Pitre) to the norv Dominica, to
Martinique (Fort-de-France and on to St. Lucia
in the south.
The ferry departs and arrives at the Ro_ Bay
Front, a short walk from the heart of the
capital
